Lights in the Heights: Science!

Hello Friends!

Due to some other work I was doing, I have become aware of the power of the QR Code. So much like an Easter egg in coding, you are here because you were awarded a badge with a scientist on it at the party. Thanks for being a part of the party and making it great again this year. In the past, I’ve been limited by the amount of space to write a small story on the back of the badge – this year not so. Now that I have an unlimited word count, I’m not sure what to say.

So let’s begin here.

Syria, Trump, mass shootings, ISIS, refugees, concussions. It’s been a tough year! As we close the year out spending time with family and friends, the older I get, the more I value these relationships and time together. I was contemplating what message to share this year and ran across the Todd Rundgren song, “Love is the Answer”. It’s a standard, ’70’s pop fare telling you to get along with others. At first, I thought this was the right selection.

A little further down the road, I switched the iPod to a different artist and found the “right” answer. So get your tasty groove on, crank the bass up a little more, turn the volume up, and instead of a nice, sentimental, pop song – scream with me and Kid Rock –

I said it’s all good and it’s all in fun
Now get in the pit and try to love someone!

Bawitdaba da bang da bang diggy diggy diggy
Shake the boogie said up jump the boogie

So keep it light, get in the pit this year, and if you’d like to know who your scientist was, here’s the key.
